Sam is. 4 year old lab with a penchant for swallowing things like spatulas and toothbrushes. Sam needed to be sedated and have a scope to determine if the toothbrush he swallowed last month was the reason he kept wrenching. His DogParents have gone through bankruptcy and could not afford the visit to the specialist but didn't want him to suffer any more. The scope confirmed he has an ulcer in his throat and we are waiting on a plan of action from the vet.

Sponsor Dog Stryker's situation is the epitome as to why FDP was established. Stryker, a 4 year old
american bulldog, was given to his DogMother after his former family merged households resulting in
5 dogs and discord amongst them. Stryker's family was in a good position to take him their home at
that time, but since then his DogMother lost her job and can no longer afford his special food or vet
visits. Stryker is a good, loving boy and his DogMother doesn't want to give him up because of her
temporary financial crisis. And now she doesn't have to- thanks to you! |
Sponsor Dog Titus' new DogFather was at a worksite when he noticed a sound coming from the back of a pick up truck. There was Titus, crated and tied down to the bed. Just a young pup, Titus was thin and seemed neglected. His owner said that his landlord wouldn't let Titus in the house, so he kept him in the crate, day and night, and didn't feed him because he 'made a mess.' He knew it would be tough financially, his new DogFather couldn't leave Titus there under such terrible conditions. He convinced the former owner to hand Titus over then and there. His new DogFather found Fairy DogParents, and we qualified Titus and his new family for temporary assistance.
Sponsor Dog Maggie Mae is a 7 year old Jack Russell terrier suffering from pyometra, an infected uterus common with unspayed female dogs. Fairy DogParents sponsored Maggie Mae to undergo surgery at VCA Roberts Animal Hospital in Hanover.
Sponsor dog JJ is an 8 year old pug was recently adopted through PRONE. Prior to being surrendered to PRONE JJ suffered a stroke which crippled in his front leg. Recently JJ started to gnaw on his crippled leg causing additional injury to himself and he vet recommended amputation. This was an expense his new DogMother was unable to afford. We qualified JJ and he is recovering at home with his family.
