Skywalker's open heart surgery was a success and he is going home with his family to recover and continue his service dog training to become a resource for his 8 yr old autistic brother. Sponsor Dog Skywalker is a 5 month rescue dog that found love with his new family. He was taken from his mother at 4 weeks old from a house that was going to be raided by police due to illegal activity. Skywalker has a condition called PDA which means there is a hole in his heart that has not closed on it's own. His heart also has a leaking valve which can be surgically repaired along with the hole. Skywalker is a special boy because he is training to be a service dog to his 8 year old Autistic brother. If he doesn't get this surgery on this coming Thursday he will be put to sleep.

Skywalker's DogMother is going through a divorce and has 4 yr old twins in addition to her 8 year old son mentioned above. She just spent February's rent money to get Skywalker diagnosed and is heartbroken that she cannot afford this lifesaving surgery. The surgery estimate is $4,000 and FDP has sponsored the maximum of $800 towards this surgery at Tufts. Any additional money that is donated in Skywalkers name will go directly to his care.
